Britney Spears was caught up in a weird-ass incident when a security guard pulled a gun on a photographer who was trying to get pictures of the star at a Hollywood church. An eyewitness reported: "When her 4X4 came out officers stopped the traffic, let her go ahead and held paparazzi back. One photographer tried to get past and suddenly two undercover security guards ran out into the street. The photographer looked terrified." The church’s executive director, Mike Hooper, said: "One photographer… tried to run over an officer who had stopped traffic… one of our guards pulled a gun out. I cannot speak for the security officer, but he does not regret it. This is a church, not a concert."

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have been shocked to learn of a plot to kidnap their adopted son, Pax Thien. Security guards discovered the meticulously planned conspiracy to abduct the three-year-old, who Angelina recently adopted from an orphanage in Vietnam. A source revealed: "Information came out that leaders of the gang ordered their LA members to devise a plan to kidnap Pax before demanding a ransom of $100 million - equal to the profit from a year of drug dealing - for his safe return. Brad and Angie would have a number of days to hand over the money or risk the boy's life."

Donatella Versace has admitted that her daughter Allegra is battling the eating disorder anorexia. The fashion mogul and her American ex-hubby Paul Beck released the following statement: "Allegra has been battling anorexia, a very serious disease, for many years. She is receiving the best medical care possible to help overcome this illness and is responding well. As parents, we are doing our best to protect our daughter. However, due to numerous media reports, we want to let everyone know that we appreciate their concern for Allegra, and we ask that her privacy be respected at this time."

Allegra, who inherited a 50% share in the £300million Versace empire when she turned 18, has been studying fashion in New York since 2004.

Amy Winehouse has made history with her album Back to Black entering the US charts at Number 7 – the highest-ever debut for a British female artist. The singer celebrated with new friend Courtney Love, who was one of the A-list guests at her LA gig. The pair hugged and the former Hole front woman made the dubious offer of telling Amy to call her if she ever needed any advice. The soul singer also captivated Mischa Barton’s ex, Cisco Adler, and Bruce Willis, who begged her to fly to Vegas for his birthday. Amy must have partied a little too hard with her new Hollywood pals - the next day she failed to show up at her own concert, leaving event organisers mystified.

Gisele has dismissed rumours that she is pregnant by her new boyfriend, American football star Tom Brady. The supermodel said in an interview on Spanish TV: “I'm 26 years old, for Christ's sake! Why would I have a baby now? I'm not pregnant and I'm not planning to be pregnant anytime soon, I have so many contracts to do, so many projects... It's crazy how people can make up these stories." Brady is having a child with his ex-girlfriend however - actress Bridget Moynahan announced she was pregnant with the sportsman’s baby just after they split at the end of 2006.

Since her release from the Promises Clinic, Britney Spears has been keeping a relatively low profile. However the pop princess was recently spotted having dinner with friends and attending a dance class. Britney arrived at the Millennium Dance Complex on Friday night with two bodyguards and an assistant to take an advanced level hip hop class. Instructor Darrien Henning said the singer quietly took a place at the back of the class of 30; "The minute she walked in, she basically lit up the room. I had no idea she was coming, so I was shocked. She did the choreography really well. In fact, she came in and nailed it." Brit made one more outing that weekend – an emergency dash to a hospital, but according to her spokesperson, "At worst, it's a toothache."

Britney Spears has left rehab after finishing a one-month treatment course. Her manager Larry Rudolph said that the star had left "after successfully completing" the programme and asked "that the media respects her privacy as well as those of her family and friends at this time". On its website, the Promises Malibu Treatment Facility claims to offer patients "uncommon luxury" and is "tucked into the Santa Monica Mountains with a gorgeous panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean".
