Britney Spears' mother, Lynne, is writing her memoirs with a collaborator, Lorilee Craker, who says the book is "the truth, but it's based in love." The 200-page tome is described by Craker as a mother's perspective on having a child in the public eye. She says, "Lynne, first of all, is a wonderful person. She is one of the kindest, most decent people, and very down-to-earth. People would be amazed at how normal she is, but she's living in this sort of surreal life at the same time. One thing I do want to make clear is that she's not a stage mom. People are so accusatory toward her and so judgmental of her, and it just drives me crazy because I know the real her." American sources are claiming that Jessica Simpson may be dating Owen Wilson. A photographic agency got pictures of the two stars arriving separately at the Huntley Hotel and chatting together for about an hour. One onlooker said, "They looked cosy, like it was a first date. They both looked kind of nervous. And they were obsessed with not being recognized or photographed. Hotel security was on high alert and they both had escorts when they left."

Brad Pitt has confessed that he is embarrassed by his early film performances, particularly in Cutting Class, Meet Joe Black and Seven Years In Tibet. The actor, who recently finished filming Burn After Reading, apologised to film critics for his woeful early work in the 80s, but insisted he's got better since. He said, "I believe I'm quite capable and we, as people, can learn to do anything, and that's proof of it! And my education is on film, on record! Now I can take on anything that comes my way and find truth in it an do a pretty good job."

Jessica Simpson is joining the long line of celebrities who have their own fragrances. The Newlyweds star has reportedly signed a deal with Parlux fragrances, who also created Paris Hilton’s lucrative line of scents. Jessica launched a range of sweet-scented cosmetics in 2004 called Dessert, which promised to make you “look and feel as good as you taste.” Her first fragrance, which is currently unnamed, should hit stores next summer.

Paris Hilton was reportedly incensed to find posters advertising her infamous sex tape, One Night in Paris, in the window of an adult video store. The socialite, who is currently working on a film in Toronto, saw the display on her way to a Halloween party. The store is thought to have CCTV footage of a woman (believed to be Paris) shouting, “You guys can’t use my image in a porn store.  I’m going to call my lawyer and sue the shit out of this place. I really want them down because they’re mean and this is not right. I’m really serious, this is sickening.”

She was sobbing in the toilet cubicle and couldn't be calmed down.” Britney is due back in court today to seek greater access to her two young sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, who are currently living with their father.

Paris Hilton suffered her second awards show humiliation of the year, after she was booed by the audience at the 2007 Scream Awards. Paris was on stage to present an award at the ceremony, which celebrates horror and science fiction in film and television when the LA audience started booing and jeering. Her two co-presenters tried to calm the crowd while Paris gamely faced the jeers with a fixed grin.

Naomi Campbell hasn’t quite been cured of her famous temper, if the tantrum she threw at Heathrow airport is anything to go by. Apparently the supermodel arrived for her flight to New York 11 minutes before it was due to take off and demanded to be let on. When her request was turned down, she reportedly said, “You have to let me on. Come on… I can’t believe you won’t allow me on your flight. What is this?” A spokesperson for Naomi, who has had anger management classes in the past, said, “She is in the air at the moment, traveling to New York on business. We are not aware of any incident.” An airline source said, “Naomi is one of our best customers so everyone is trying to keep hush-hush about her tirade.”
